adv7611 can't sync 1080p

Hi 

I'm working with adv7611 (FMC-HDMI from DIGILENT).

My simple test system is like below.

(labtop) - adv7611 HDMI in - FPGA video processing - VGA out - (monitor)

I have configured adv7611 with ADV7611-VER.3.0c.txt from https://ez.analog.com/video/w/documents/789/adv7611-design-support-files.

labtop find a second display device and display well at 480p, 720p but 1080p is not.

When I change the resolution to 1080p and then, the display has some wrong screen aspect ratio.

What should I do now?



7211 was typo. Fix 7611 now.

    Hi,

      We don't find find any ADV7211 part in our video forum, If we have the specification for that part then only we can suggest why this part is not supporting for 1080p video format.

    Hi,

      Please let us know which source you are using for 1080p input.

      Also refer the attached script for configuring the 1080p input 1817.ADV7611-VER.3.0c.txt.zip and ignore the writes to address 72 which corresponds to ADV7511.

  • I configured ADV7611 using the below code and EDID also.

    Actually, I have 2 sources in my system. One is FPGA Testpattern source that throughout ADV7511 HDMI output and the other one is my laptop.  Testpattern source is working at 1080p very well but my laptop source doesn't very well 1080p.  The laptop can recognize the device and display resolution recommend 720x480 and also display well. When I have changed the resolution 1280x720 is also displaying well. But how come at 1080 resolution, the display aspect ratio is weird. Why did this happen? Because EDID setting is not preferred for 1080p?  I think this is just EDID problem because my test pattern is working well. Am I wrong? What can I miss any problem possibility? Please give me any advice.

    Hi,

     If your laptop supports 720 and 480 then it should work for 1080p, the above EDID can support 1080p as well.

     Can you please check with other laptops as well as any other source like player and let us know.

    Source may not transmit unless they have a valid EDID to work with So Please refer below thread for configuring the internal EDID,
