looking for 10 bit parallel video data to MIPI CSI 2 converting SerDes IC

Thread Summary

The user is seeking a SerDes solution to convert 10-bit parallel video data with an 8 MHz PCLK to a MIPI CSI-2 interface. The ADV7482 is suggested, but it requires a minimum LLC clock frequency of 13.5 MHz, which may cause glitches with the 8 MHz PCLK. The support engineer will check for alternative components to meet the requirement.

Hi,

We are looking for SerDes Solution that converts 10 bit parallel video data with PCLK of 8MHz to MIPI CSI 2 interface. It means serializer with input of 10 bit parallel video data->long cable->Desrializer with MIPI CSI 2 output. If there is no SerDes solution, then direct converter IC is also acceptable. Any assistance is much appreciated.

  • Hi Poornima,

In Page no : 19 of ADV7482 datasheet, Following lines are mentioned.

"The following formats are supported both as input and output ports:

    • 8-bit interleaved 4:2:2 SDR input/output with embedded timing codes

    • 8-bit interleaved 4:2:2 DDR input/output with embedded timing codes"

But our input video is 8/10 bit RGB parallel video with Hsync, Vsync and Pixel clock(PCLK- 8MHz),

I am afraid of that whether it is compatible or not.

    Regards,

    Ameenu
