[ADV7611] Test mode (debug mode etc.)

Hello.

I have some questions about test mode (debug mode etc.) of ADV7611.

My customer will use ADV7611 and he thinks he has to take care in order not to enter the test mode.

Is there any test mode (debug mode etc.) of ADV7611?
-If it's no, it's OK. This thread will be closed.
-Even if it's yes, I don't think that ADV7611 enters the test mode accidentally as long as the datasheet spec is kept.
  Is this right?

I think this is your confidential information. So I think you don't have to open the details.
What the customer wants to know are as follows:
-Whether ADV7611 has the test mode or not.
-Even if ADV7611 has the test mode, ADV7611 never enters the test mode accidentally as long as the datasheet spec is kept.
When we can get your comment about these, I will close this thread.

Thank you!
Best regards.

    Hi,

There is no test mode (Debug mode) configuration available in ADV7611 .
Please note that but by using repeater software driver , I believe that you can able to debug the functionalities .
The repeater driver is configured through compiler switches and this would be used to enable or disable debug output to the Rs-232 console.

    Thanks,

    Poornima

  • Hi,

    Thank you for your reply.

The test mode I mention is not for the users but for ADI manufacturing or development etc.
I know this is your confidential information. So I think you don't have to open the details.
    As I mentioned yesterday:
    >What the customer wants to know are as follows:
    > -Only whether ADV7611 has the test mode or not.
    > -Even if ADV7611 has the test mode, ADV7611 never enters the test mode accidentally as long as the datasheet spec is kept.
    >When we can get your comment about these, I will close this thread.

    About your comment:
    >There is no test mode (Debug mode) configuration available in ADV7611.

Do you mean there is also no test mode in ADV7611 even for ADI internal use only?
-If it's yes, this thread will be closed.
-Even if it's no, I think that ADV7611 never enters the test mode accidentally as long as the datasheet spec is kept.
      Is this right?

    Thank you!
    Best regards.

    Hi,

I beleive, before releasing the chip, ADI might have some test mode. This might be confidential to an ADI.

Please let me know, are you asking this test mode for validating the ADV part ?
Generally to validate the Rx part, we can use a free run and also we compliance tested this part using our reference board during the initial chip release.

    Thanks,

    Poornima

  • Hi,

    Thank you for your reply.

    >Please let me know, are you asking this test mode for validating the ADV part ?
=> No. The customer is just afraid that ADV7611 enters the test mode accidentally on their board.
So, he makes sure that it is possible to enter the test mode only by the way which can't be usual.
I think that ADV7611 never enters the test mode accidentally as long as we keep the datasheet spec.
      Is this right?

    Thank you!
    Best regards.
