ADV7513 Color output missmatch

Hi,

I have an ADV7513 on my own board. I did set it up with the values from script ADV7611-ADV7513-VER.2.9 setting 6-1e.

Except for input formats 720p25 / 29,97 / 30 and 1080p23,98 / 24 color will be displayed fine.

For these five formats for some reason channel red and blue seems to be switched.

Does anyone have an idea what could cause this behaviour?

Thanks

    Hi,

Do you have one of our evaluation boards for ADV7513 like EVAL-ADV7612-7511?

Did you do the test on our evaluation board and observe same behavior?

Have you visited the ADV7513 Design Support Files  for documents like hardware manual, programming guide, schematics etc?

We recommend that customers who are evaluating ADV7511/ADV7513 purchase an evaluation board like EVAL-ADV7612-7511 and this will allow you to control the ADV7511 using various configuration scripts as well as our software driver. Then you can compare the functionality to your board.

  • Hi Jeyasudha,

I do have an ADV7612-7511P Evalboard. I can't see this issue on the board.

My input settings is 16bit YCbCr with embedded sync instead of 24bit RGB like the evalboard is set up.

As I said, the issue is quite strange, because I do not change color setup. I do use the de generator and the embedded sync generator. But these register, I guess, should not effect the color behaviour. The picture will be displayed fine and the monitor does detect the format correctly.

AVI Infoframe setup is done once on HDMI init (interrupt controlled).

I did also compared the register values from eval board to the values I write to the chip on my board.

Like I said these values are the same except for the input register.

Thanks for quickly answering my question.

  • Hi,

I figured out the problem. I made a mistake by setting up the values for DE generation. Obviously the timing started with Cr instead of Cb so red and blue channels were switched. I did correct the values and now colors are displayed as supposed.

Question is answered and can be closed.
