ADV7619 CEC Headerframe question

HI

I am transmitting CEC signal using adv7619.
I have a few questions.
1. I saw and set ADV7619-VER.1.9.c.txt, but it didn't work (98 0C 42), so I uploaded the power up part and it was executed. Then, I am wondering whether the data currently provided is wrong, or is it necessary to use it after powering up to use CEC?
2. If set and transmitted as HeaderFrame(80 00 FF), data value is transferred.
However, if you change it to a different value such as (80 00 40), only the value of HeaderFrame is transmitted and the DataFrame is not transmitted. I want you to tell me why.

Thank you.

  • Hi,

Please refer HDMI specification you can know about the CEC feature ,there you can find what recommended sequence we need to follow to implement CEC feature.

Also refer ADV7619 software driver at Evaluation board software  Also with regards to the CEC protocol, it is important to note that this is a bidirectional bus on a single wire.

Please make sure with below things for "How to connect CEC line"

In general - the best is to follow our recommendation we provide on Design Support files

     https://ez.analog.com/video/w/documents/773/adv7619-design-support-files (recommended schematics).

In general we short CEC lines of two inputs. CEC engine on ADV7619 supports internally two CEC SPA addresses - therefore it is recommended setting. Additionally there should be ultra-low leakage pull-up on CEC line. HDMI spec specifies that this line must not have excessive leakage (refer to spec). Any switches on those lines are not recommended as they introduce additional resistance and change characteristics of the line.

If switches or anything additional is necessary - Please check this in spec:
More details about CEC line in documents:
       HDMI Specification 1.4, chapter 4.2.10 - table 4-40
CEC 4, CEC 5 Chapters in CEC Appendix.
Also 8.6 of HDMI Spec might be useful to read.

    Refer CECAppNote.pdf  for your reference.

    Thanks,
