Can't ADV7625 receive 1366x768 at Transceiver mode (non mux mode) ?

Please give me some advices.

<Composition>

PC → EVAL-ADV7625-SMZ → Monitor

I've evaluated ADV7625 by EVAL-ADV7625-SMZ.

・If EVAL-ADV7625-SMZ(Transceiver mode) is input 1366x768, Monitor blink (display→Black→display )  every 3~5 minutes.

・If EVAL-ADV7625-SMZ(Transceiver mode) is input 1080p, Monitor is stable.

・If EVAL-ADV7625-SMZ(Mux mode) is input 1366x768, Monitor is stable.

Can EVAL-ADV7625-SMZ(Transceiver mode) receive 1366x768?

Best regard.

  • Hi,

For Non-Mux mode configurations, additional settings are required for these formats 1366x768.

It is possible to custom program the resolution that the ADV7625 should expect for free run mode 1 by programming the Free-run Line Length, Line Count Max, and Interlaced registers

Please refer section7.3.6 in adv7625_HW_manual for additional settings of custom resolution.

    And also refer below thread.

What is difference between Mux mode and Transceiver mode in ADV7625?

    Thanks,

    Poornima

    Thank you for your reply.

    I consult your opinion.

  • Hi,

    Mr. Poornima Subramani

I belong to the same company as SHIGETO.

We understood the need to set the following registers.

    ch1_fr_ll [10: 0]
    cp_lcount_max [11: 0]
    interlaced

section 7.3.6 in adv 7625 _ HW _ manual confirmed.

But it was too difficult for us. We could not understand.
Could you tell me the set value?
    In the case of 1366 × 768
    Best regard.
  • Hi,

If EVAL-ADV7625-SMZ(Transceiver mode) is input 1366x768, Monitor blink (display→Black→display )  every 3~5 minutes.

In non-mux mode, when the ADV7625 received AVMUTE in GC packet, it transmitted AVMUTE in GC packet. It also blanked the video.

Please refer section7.3.8 Manual parameter mode in ADV7625_HW_Manual to set the corresponding resolution.

Please Cross check with this script file##19 Additional Formats Configuration Writes## to monitor the blink and also try this format with freerun mode.

Then within that there are scripts based on pixel clock frequency and mode configuration.

The requirement for using those settings is based on the pixel clock frequency of the format. These would be for non-standard or graphics formats that fall between the standard timing we support.

    Thanks,

    Poornima

  • Hi Poornima.

    I also have same question?

I confirmed the section7.3.8 Manual parameter mode in ADV7625_HW_Manual. Accordint to it, the Manual parameter mode is only available for the pixel port input. Can't we setting thr resolution(1366 x 768) in case of the HDMI Rx input?

    Best regards,

    Akira

  • Hi,

Yes,we can do customization at Source/Generator side ,but it will support till 300MHz(3G) maximum TMDS clock frequency.

    Thanks,

    Poornima

  • Hi Poornima.

Thanks for the reply. I am a little confused, so I want you to organize it.

In response to the first question of SHIGETO, it was resolved by referring to section 7.3.6 in adv 7625 _ HW _ manual. Is this effective when the input signal is via Hdmi Rx?

If via pixel port input, can you solve both in section7.3.6 in adv7625_HW_manual for additional settings of custom resolution and section 7.3.8 Manual parameter mode in ADV 7625_HW_Manual?
  • Hi PoornimaSubramani

I would like to input ADV7625 TMDS (not pixel port input).

I understand that Manual parameter mode is able to use for only pixel port input(= TMDS can't use).

    Is my opinion right?

If I input ADV7625 TMDS, Can I adjust free run mode(7.3.6 programming the Free-run Line Length, Line Count Max, and Interlaced registers)?

If can, what should I do to adjust?

Please tell me the way to adjust or give me sample?

    Best regards.

  • Hi,

       I beleive yes.

If I input ADV7625 TMDS, Can I adjust free run mode(7.3.6 programming the Free-run Line Length, Line Count Max, and Interlaced registers)?

Yes,for standard input resolution, please refer section 7.2.3 in ADV7625_HW manual and also for non-standard resolution we can change through the pixel port only.

The hdmi_frun_mode control can also be used with the pixel port (pixel) input, Please refer 7.3.6.2 section in ADV7625_HW_manual.

    Thanks,

  • Hello Poornima,

The customer changed a setting from 0x8C(XGA) to 0x85(SXGA) of "cp_a_vid_std" for 1366 x 768. Then ADV7625 can receive 1366 x 768 at Transceiver mode (non mux mode) . However we are nor sure the reason. Can you expalne the reason why ADV7625 can receive 1366 x 768 by SXGA setting?

And is  "cp_a_vid_std command available not only for the free run but also for a normal picture signal?

    Best regards,

    Akira
