Hello.
We wanna to use adv202 jdate output to encode still image . But this mode is not compatible with the raw mode. So сan we use the same input and settings for the frame to get the same result?
I.e. PIXEL_END=XTOT
V0_END=YTOT
F0_START=1
V0_START=1
Thanks.
Hi,
All documentation related to this available here https://ez.analog.com/video/w/documents/796/adv212-design-support-files
Please note that raw mode is *NOT* recommended and there is a document on that…
Please note that raw mode is *NOT* recommended and there is a document on that page discussing about it's limitations.
Thanks,

Sorry, not clearly expressed. Can we use the HVF mode to get the same result as raw?
Userguides do not give a clear answer to the required dimensions of an blank part of input image...
Everything would be available is either on the link referred above or on the FTP site that links to it. ADV202 and ADV212 are pin and software compatible.
Also refer here https://www.analog.com/en/products/adv202.html#product-overview,
Here you can find AN-790: How to Use the ADV202 (Rev. 0) , ADV202: JPEG2000 Video Codec Data Sheet (Rev. D),ADV202 Technical Documentation ,Implementing JPEG2000 compression ,AN-796: Using the ADV202 in a Multichip Application (Rev. 0) ,ADV202: JPEG2000 Video Codec Data Sheet (Rev. D) .Still you can find more document there.
As per expert comment "For a new design, you should be considering ADV212, not ADV202.There are no macro-blocks at all in JPEG2000. It's a wavelet based compression. The ADV212 can handle a 2000x3000 image if it was tiled. Because of memory limitations the maximum tile size (for lossy) is 1.048 million samples. That would be 1024x1024 for single component for example. 2000x3000 you could do with 6 tiles of 2000x500".
Also if you want to use HVF with the same input video, the only thing to change is bit 6 of the PICFG parameter should be 1".

Note: In decode slave mode video output is synchronized to the incoming HVF signals.In both cases, the register settings reflect the video standard of the input. The part synchronizes itself to the incoming sync signals. Fields are identified by the incoming FIELD signal.HVF Mode: The ADV212 can also accept video data accompanied by separate HSYNC,VSYNC, and FIELD (HVF) signals, where video data is interleaved onto a single bus. This is set up by the user in the firmware parameters.
