ADV7524A - Failing to read EDID segment 1

Hi,

We're using the ADV7524A in one of our products (we are HDMI adopters), and have created a 4 block EDID, and using a CYP XA-4 analyzer to emulate the EDID.

We can read segment 0 (we get an EDID ready interrupt), but if we attempt to read segment 1 we get an I2C error reported by the ADV7524A DDC controller. Any ideas what the problem is ?

Thanks

  • Hi,

ADV7524A is an NDA part So we can't discuss or support it on EngineerZone. You will need to go through ADI sales team for that one.

Generally transmitter begins buffering segment 0 of the Sink’s EDID after HPD is detected and its powered up. But the system can request additional segments by programming the EDID Segment register (By writing the desired segment number in corresponding register).

Please refer section 4.5 EDID Handling for more details in ADV7511W Programming Guide

    Thanks,
