What EAV/SAV codes suit Analog Devices encoders?

Hi,

I am doing some content addition in an FPGA and need to know what EAV/SAV codes are used when  the NEWAVMODE bit is low (0x31[4]=0)?  It is not clear from the datasheet if where the vertical sync is when NEWAVMODE=0.  On page 46 of the datasheet (Rev F):

NEWAVMODE, New AV Mode, Address 0x31[4]
When NEWAVMODE is 0, EAV/SAV codes are generated to suit Analog Devices encoders. No adjustments are possible.

I am using the Eval board with the ADV7180LF and the ADV7191...

  • What I am really asking is what video lines (NTSC-M) in the digital pixel data does the ADV7180 use for vertical blanking when the NEWAVMODE = 0?  Maybe more importantly, since I don't see a way to change the values of the encoder,  what vertical blanking lines does the ADV7391 use for vertical blanking?

On page 80 of  the ADV7390_7391_7392_7393.pdf datasheet, Figure 108 shows some values, but these do not seem to work correctly when I change the data in other lines except these.  Does the ADV7391 look for the vertical blanking to start halway through line 525 (and line 262)?
