RS-343 Video

I have a customer looking to capture RS-343 video (high resolution monochrome composite video used primarily in mil/aero) and wanted to know if we have any parts that have been used to do this? I was thinking maybe the ADV7181C could do the job but am looking for some sort history that the part can be setup correctly for this standard?

I also noticed the ADV7128 supports RS-343 as an output, so there must be a complimentary part to bring the signal in? Any insight would be useful as I am relatively new to the line... Thanks!!

  • I've seen this question before fairly recently.  My understanding is that none of our video decoder parts decode this format.  RS-170, yes but not RS-343.

If you separated the synch off and just fed it into Y, I imagine you could do it using the CP of most of or video decoder parts.  I'm not aware of anyone who has tried though.
