What are the possible video timings of the ADV7511 (TX) and ADV7619 (RX) operated in DVI mode?

Hello,

we intend to transmit video data from a non standard resolution source using DVI. The DVI receiver is not connected to a monitor but to a FPGA for further video processing.

According to the Hardware User Guide the ADV7511 should be capable of transmitting 1920x1080p60/36 bit deep color RGB content. I have read that the total frame size of a 1920x1080 DVI frame format, which includes horizontal and vertical blanking pixels, is commonly 2200x1125 pixels per frame in DVI, i.e. 280 pixels for horizontal blanking and 45 lines for vertical blanking.

The DVI 1.0 specification itself requires a quite loose blanking with at minimal 128 pixels very 50 ms (20 Hz period) intended for RX synchronization.

Now my question is if it is possible to extend the active pixel area in both directions, i.e. to reduce the horizontal and vertical blanking? As an example let's assume an active pixel area of 2100x1100 at 60 fps. The DVI 1.0 specification, as mentioned before, would still be met since we would still have enough vertical blanking to reach the 128 pixels for blanking (even) every 16.67 ms (60 Hz period). As there is no monitor connected which really requires some blanking, would the ADV7619 be able to extract all active pixels of this frame format or does it only detect the standard formats?

Any suggestions? Thanks!
