AD9380 - Recommended Settings

I have 3 questions concerning the pdf “HDMI Audio Settings for the AD9880 (and derivatives)”. Attached.

  1. To make sure, there are only two modes to be handled; all modes and Optimized 480p mode. So is it safe to assume that all video formats other than 480p can be grouped in the All modes and that only 480p is differentiated and so it has its own mode? I am only interested in standard formats, 480i/p, 576i/p, 720p50, 720p60, 1080i50, 1080i60, 1080p24.
  2. R0x34[4]=0 sets it to auto mode which means that the value in R0x34[5] is not important. But R0x34[5] is still recommended to be set to 1. Is this a typo?
  3. Footnote 1 states that “The audio PLL must be “reset” by writing 0x00 to R0x7F upon every mode change.”. But according to the datasheet R0x7F is a read-only register. What am I missing? Also what exactly is meant by a mode change? Is it the change between “All Modes” and “Optimized VGA/480p” mode? Or would it mean any format change what-so-ever?
