AD9398 and MCLKIN (external audio clock)

Hi!

In datesheet for AD9398 hasn't found the information in what parity there is a frequency on MCLKIN: 128*Fs, 256*Fs.... And whether it is possible to adjust it?

P.S.

Possibility to use external MCLK is realized? In AD9398/AD9381 reference design parts concerning to external clock are marked "NOT INSTALLED"

Best,

Mikhail G.

    Hi Mikhail,

When the AD9398 was designed, it was thought that an option for MCLKIN would be useful. Further investigation proved that synchronizing an external MCLK on the HDMI Rx would require a substantial amount of circuitry and would not be economically feasible. Our recommendation from then as always been to use the MCLK value which is generated internally based upon the HDMI clock and N/CTS values.

    Best regards,
