ADV7511W and I2C communication

Hi,

in our system ADV7511W is configured by a processor via I2C base address 0x72 and works properly.

For test purposes we try to read out the register settings of ADV7511W via I2C by AnalogLaunchPAD tool of TI.

 For all register readbacks (0x00, 0x17, 0x3d, 0x3e, 0x3c, 0xc7, 0x15, 0x41, 0x44) we get always 0x13. What could go wrong?

I2C signalling seems to be standard conform.

regards

1) I am not familiar with ALP

2) Is the exposed pad soldered to ground?  Common mistake but it happens.  Probably yes since processor access is fine.

3) Does ALP meet Tdsu and Tdso minimums?

4) During I2C transaction are the processor pins tri-stated.  I am not familiar with your board implementation.  Is it possible there's a collision going on?

  • Thanks for your answer:

    2) - yes

    3) - yes

    4) - at this measure time, processor is in standby, additionally no visible collosions could be detected.
