I am really surprised ADV7619 as a mature chip from ADI which well-known as a prestigious leader in the electronics world, has organized all its tutorial documents in such a mess!!! So many engineers have to use the forum posts to inquire ADI application engineer with their basic bringing-up. What is worse, as far as I see, numerous of problems are the similar without a perfect answer!
I have gone through quite a few dozens of question posts in the forum. I have been referring to the script of "ADV7619-VER.1.9c.txt", in this tutorial, there is nothing ever mentioned that whether the user need to configure the EDID info or not in any application scenario.
Only by referring to this similar thread, I know we need to configure it explicitly if we need to use internel EDID. Can you provide an conclusive answer to this thread?

If I want to use the internal EDID, do I have to use this utility to generate an customize an EDID by myself?

Hi,
Please make sure the same problem occurring when you are using with 8-bit addressing ?
Below thread refer "How can we use ADV761x with an internal EDID" .And also 64 77 writes should be 64 74. There is typo mistake in EDID

If you want to customize an EDID,you can use above Advantiv EDID Editor tool.
Note : HDMI Initialization Sequence
Thanks,

Hi Poornima,
Are you sure the link you provide is known to work with ADV7619 up to 4K? Are these information all you expect? It appear to me nothing about 4K capability, and it even doesn't show RGB support capacity either.
Although the TMDS layer is able to lock, but I couldn't see DE signal functioning, it is always high, what could be the problem then?
Another question, do you have a corresponding register configuration map matches your illustrated initialization sequence?

Just to supplement something, when I tried to set the the OP_FORMAT_SEL to 0x94, I found that DE can toggle high and low, but still seems not to be working normally, there is pause during data transfer. What might be the problem?
Are you seeing the same problem with 8-bit addressing ?
From my tests, there could be nothing with the 8-bit address as my platform can only work with 7-bit address and my I2C accessing is always working fine with 7-bit address now
