As the title goes, what is the best way to verify ADV7619 is generating correct output format except using a physical oscilloscope or logic analyzer? Do we have a best status register to give indicating information?
Hi,Generally ADV7619 will output the video stream in the format defined in the OP_FORMAT_SEL register. If you are receiving CEA HDMI then you can also examine the AVI infoframe for the VIC number. And also STDI registers can used to measure the input format timing. In addition to that HDMI Synchronization parameters (HDMI input) read back registers can be used to estimate the incoming resolution. See STDI section in the ADV7619 Reference Manual.
Now I seem to check out the vsync, hsync and data from ADV7619, but the DE is constantly high, what might be the cause?
Please crosscheck your schematics with reference one, which is available in design support files.
Note: Generally DE high implies active video. DE will stay high for one line of active video, capture the line, when DE goes low get ready to capture the next line of video when DE goes high again. Continue capturing video lines when DE is high until Vsync goes high. That would complete one frame of video.
