ADV8003 Evaluation Board

Hi,

I am tring to convert a HDMI signal into a component analog video. i am using the ADV8003 evaluation board. I am using your SW and I am giving theese command using the console:

-SRC HDMI 2

-out comp 1 main

-mainvsp 576i50 

but is not clear to me how these commands work, in the sense that there are two component on eval board, one to convert HDMI to TTL and the ADV8003 for video processsor.

I see which registers of ADV8003 I can modify to convert from TTL to analog but is not clear to me which registers of ADV7842 I need to configure. 

How I can configure the first to give me on TTL a rgb 24 bit video signal from the HDMI input? the HW manual of ADV7842 is not clear in how do this.

    Hi,

     This details are provided in ADV7842 Software user guide, For TTL RGB out , configure register OP_FORMAT_SEL[7:0] -0x03 . And also configure the RGB as limited or full range as per your requirement. Refer Page56 in ADV7842 Software user guide.

       

    Note:   Full Range       -  40 02 F2 ; Full Range RGB Output

                 Limited range -  40 02 F6 ; Limited Range RGB Output

  • Hi Poornima,

    I tried with this commands, but I am not able to see any signals on data. I See only signal on DE but no transaction seen on data lines. (I take the signal from JT6 PIN 5 and 7 that should be P1 and P2 of TTL bus).

    I have some questions for you:

    1) The probing of P1 and P2 is usefull to understand if the signal is going out on TTL bus?

    2) any other parameters to set to have the output on TTL bus?

    3) if I use these High level commands:

    -SRC HDMI 1

    -out comp 1 main

    -mainvsp 576i50

    I should be able to see the video sugnal at 576i50 on component (DAC 4,5 and 6), right?

    Hi,

    ADV8003 SMZ evaluation board does not have the Analog out, Have you populated Analog out?

    Are you using software or binary (BF_7625_8003_VSP_1.90.2REL_20141231.bin given in https://ez.analog.com/video/w/documents/697/advantiv-eval-adv8003-smz-video-evaluation-board) to check the above?

    The binary BF_7625_8003_VSP_1.90.2REL_20141231.bin configures ADV7625 as the RX.  Can you check with HDMI input to ADV7625 and try the same with this binary?

    The input is detected with the right format, and also the chain seems to be correct, but no able to see signal on DAC.
    I notice only now that the chain seems to use OSD as TTL input for ADV8003 no main TTL, this is correct? I need to check the OSD pins to see if the signal is going to ADV8003?

    The input is detected with the right format, and also the chain seems to be correct, but no able to see signal on DAC.
    I notice only now that the chain seems to use OSD as TTL input for ADV8003 no main TTL, this is correct? I need to check the OSD pins to see if the signal is going to ADV8003?
