i have designed a DVI video receiver card using AD9398. The output of AD9398 will be given to ADV202 for further compression. Now i read a warning from ADI saying that the don't use AD9398 for new design and recommended ADV7612 in place of AD9398. My requirement is that i have to receive DVI-D signal of resolution 1024 X 768 For storage purpose. This card will be used in airborne unit. still my design is in schematic and i want to go for PCB design. pl. advice weather i can use the ADV7612 in place of AD9398
You can replace the AD9398 with the ADV7612 however I'd also look at the ADV7611. Since it looks like you are planning on a non-encrypted VESA standard you can use the -P part, without the HDCP keys.
thanks Mr. GuenterL,
Since, i am not very much aware of HDCP key and VESA standard, i would like to know whether the ADV7611 can support DVI-D signal @ 1024 X 768 resolution and gives the YCrCb output either in 4:2:2 or 4:4:4 format (BT 656). pl. help me.
The hardware user guide, Pixel Port Output Modes list off the different output modes available. The device also a color space converter and is able to insert BT656 AV codes as needed. It can handle resolutions up to UXGA (1600x1200@60)
Dear Mr. GuenterL

ADV7611. i expect/request your support till i complete my design
