ADV7194, reset I2C communication, not reset all of device

This is a very old part that is not recommended for new designs so little support is available for it.  Is this problem with an existing design or a new one?

Actually I need to check this to our customer. However it is sure that the part is on old design, and probably he wants to inherit same design, but slightly change, into new product. It is natural to think avoiding additional resource for changing parts if no need. What if ADV7194 can not be recommended, which part can be in its stead ?

Hoping we can have answers from you for this question under this circumstances, at the same time I will talk with the customer whether it can be changed or required specifications for the part.

I think the ADV734X or ADV739X would be the recommended replacement.

It's certainly natural for a customer to reuse a design-- but with no changes we would expect no need for new support. I will try to find the answer but it will probably take some time.

Looks like the answer is no, the I2C is very basic on that device.
