I have a question about Table "Register Reset Control" of ADV7511 and ADV7511W.Please refer attached file "Question_of_Register_Reset_Control.xlsx".
Thank you!Best regards.TamuQuestion_of_Register_Reset_Control.xlsx
I believe, its not a error for ADV7511W, its an automotive version,So some register configuration may vary. The ADV7511 does not have a reset pin or master reset software register. You can always turn off the power supply but that's the hard way. Many of the register resets are controlled by the HPD pin and it's state.
ADV7511W PD pin is a dual function pin. The devices address is set on power up depending on how the PD/AD is pulled.Normally we recommend 5 ms wait after full power up sequence before using it as a PD pin.Assuming PD/AD is low during power up sequence then the PD pin will be active high. The PD pin is OR'd with the register PD bit for the actual power down signal. When PD is activated the chip will enter the power down state almost immediately, ( no timing available but very fast).Releasing PD will require I2C operations to reconfigure the registers listed in the Table 74 of the programming.
Thank you for your reply.
I added an comment and a question to the attached file "Question_of_Register_Reset_Control_rev02.xlsx" with the blue character. Please see it.
Thank you!Best regards.Tamu
Sorry for the inconvenience.
I beleive,"Table 74 Register Reset Control" on ADV7511W-Programming-Guide.pdf,may not be updated.
It may be updated in latest ADV7511 chipset.
So, can "Table 97" of ADV7511 also be applied to ADV7511W?
My customer develops automotive application and they uses ADV7511W.So they need information of ADV7511W.
I beleive, yes you can use.
Do you have a plan to fix the wrong "Table 74 Register Reset Control" on ADV7511W-Programming-Guide.pdf?If it's yes, when will you do it?
Let me check with part specialist on this.
The customer has been waiting for your answer. So, if it's possible, your quick response helps us very well.
Yes, the table between the 7511 and 7511W datasheets are in conflict. For now I would go with the ADV7511 table.
I've sent a note off the ADV7511W part owner about matching these 2 sheets. I do not know when they will be updated.
