The soc mentioned on the PlutoSDR page is the XC7Z010-1CLG225C
The specification for the Pluto mentions that it is a single core device but if I open the datasheet for the same part number on xilinx website it shows its dual core.
So what exactly is it ? Is there something that I am missing ?
No. The device inside the Pluto (and M2k) is a XC7Z010-1CLG225C-4334. This is a single core device that Xilinx released before the official 7007 was introduced.
The -4334 was never officially documented, and is only available to their customers under a NDA. (You can’t find public docs for the -4334 suffix)
I have seen some posts about using the dual core processor on the pluto and this seems to speed things up too. Why does this work ?
If you enable the second core it will give you more processing power, but this will have no effect on USB throughput or data rates.
