I have a audio generation system, with a CODEC TP3054. I want to replace this CODEC with AD73311. Stored audio is ".wav" files.
Can any one help me to decide whether TP3054 can be replaced with AD73311.
Wow, these are both very old parts. They are different in a lot of ways so I am not certain the AD73311 will perform as expected. It is a Sigma-Delta converter where the TI part is not. So the group delay/latency will be different.
I did not study the serial output format but it might be able to be setup to be the same. My suggestion is to redesign the board if that is at all possible and use more modern parts.
Actually "wave" files are 16 Bit LPCM and will remain same in upgraded system too.
So should I use pcm CODEC in replacement or any other CODEC can be used?
