i enter osc in terminal oscilloscope opens but on entering ip of board it shows connection refused. Can you please guide me where i am going wrong.
Download the latest available image from the wiki - 2014_R2 is outdated.
You have to write the image to the SD card. After the process is done, mount the BOOT partition of the card on you computer and copy zynq-zed-adv7511-ad9364-fmcomms4/BOOT.BIN and zynq-zed-adv7511-ad9364-fmcomms4/devicetree.dtb on the root of the partition. Safely remove the card and insert it into ZedBoard.
All the steps are described on the wiki: Zynq & Altera SoC Quick Start Guide [Analog Devices Wiki]
also in fru no eprom and no iio device what it requires to run?
I've branched your IIO-Scope related questions to a new thread.
Can you give use more details about your setup?
using ad-fmcomms4 with digilent zedboard.
i run osc command on linux terminal of laptop connected to zedboard via usb-uart ,jumper j6 short, vadj 1v MO(01100) i.e SD mode, inserted fmcomms4 SD card the one which i got with board. Zedboard was perviously booted and got zynq> in gtkterm.
Hav i missed or did wrong configuration ?
i din't get anything autostarted nor zed nor fmcomm, so there is somthing going wrong ,but can't figure out please help me.
Is the Zed board connected to your ethernet network? If so, can you ping your boards IP from the linux terminal on your laptop?
In addition to what Dan said:
- if you are seeing "zynq>" in the terminal, you are not using our SD card image. Download the latest one from here: Zynq & Altera SoC Quick Start Guide [Analog Devices Wiki]
- if you are seeing "zynq-uboot>", try to restore the default u-boot environment:
env default -a
also when i entered ping 192.... on normal terminal of laptop it gives sucessful connection .
but when i enter ifconfig it show only wlan0(my regular connection) and not any eth0
when i ping on gtkterm it shows zynq> ifconfig gives ip as 192.... and eth0.
yes i hav downloaded img it was having same files on blank 8GB SD card and got same files as SD card i got with fmcomms4 , then i copied zed_fmcomms4 folder files in boot partion .When i inserted this fmcomms4 SD card into Zedboard SD card slot and run gtkterm it didn't show anything not accepting any input, i have selected port as ttyACM0 and baud 115200
You have to write the .img on the card following the wiki instructions: Linux Download and setting up the image [Analog Devices Wiki] . Only coping the boot files doesn't help.
yes i had downloaded .img file and mounted on blank 8gb SD card, i meant copy means those files which were inside subdirectory and brougth on main boot directory.
Can you please check if IIOD is running on the board? This can be done by running the following command on the board:
ps aux | grep iiod
I'm confused - we don't have any "zynq" user on our images. Can you really follow those instructions and try again using your freshly created SD card?
ok i try again , but do i have to insert this fmcoms4 mounted card in zed board slot? do in general board boots on inserting only card prepared from 2014_R2.......img
time sudo dd if=2014_R2-2015_02_06.img of=/dev/mmcblk0 bs=4194304
it is given as mmcblk0 but when i inserted in sdcard slot of laptop it shows sdb then will it be ok. or else how can i get mmcblk0?
Depending on your computer setup you may need to replace mmcblk0 - sdb is a valid option but make sure it's the SD card.
i did steps as u guided , now in gtkterm it can atleast take input but do we hav enter any command bcoz on pressing enter cursor move on next line. and nothing happens.
hundred millions thanks to you DragosB only due to you after so many days finally i can see iio oscilloscope and will further work on gnuRadio. Thanks a lot, for so quick and helpful responses
