Hi everybody, I am working on an ADS-B transmitter in a test environment. I need to PPM (Pulse Position Modulation) - modulate a 1090 MHz carrier signal with a modulating frequency in the range of 0.5 - 1 MHz. I am thinking of using the ADF4351 eval board

Hi everybody, I am working on an ADS-B transmitter in a test environment. I need to PPM (Pulse Position Modulation) - modulate a 1090 MHz carrier signal with a modulating frequency in the range of 0.5 - 1 MHz. I am thinking of using the ADF4351 eval board as the carrier signal source and the AD8343 as the active mixer in order to modulate both signals. My questions are:

1. Does the ADF4351 produce a sine wave?

2. If not, how to make it a sine wave?

3. Does the carrier signal have to be a pure sine wave in RF wireless applications in general?

4. Which AD8343 eval board would be the right one for my design (LO: 1090 MHz - IF: 0.5 - 1MHz)?
