I have an existing PCB that uses an ADL5536 (20dB gain at 500MHz). I need a pin-compatible part that provides at least 3dB more gain, 6dB would be ideal. The ADL5545 says it has 24dB gain, and do the plots in the datasheet. However, the S-parameter chart as well as the says that S21 is more like 16dB. This is confusing to me, as the datasheet gain and S21 for the ADL5536 are much closer. Why the large difference for the AD5545, and would it provide more gain if I were to replace the ADL5536 in my PCB?
