A driver is marked as "Work in progress" what are the implications of this?
If a driver is marked as work-in-progress it is usually completed, fully functional and tested, but is not yet available in mainline Linux (a.k.a Linus' tree).
Such a drivers can usually be found in the Linux tree of the maintainer for the driver's subsystem. Most maintainer keep a 'for-next' (or similar named) branch which contains all the patches which are scheduled for the next Linux version.
