ADuM3221A can be used as a driver for GaN Transistor? GaN needs +6V and -3V (Source and Sink) of
gate voltage. Please check the attached rough schematic and let me know if something wrong with it.
The schematic you have drawn is correct, and a possible implementation of driving GaN. I don't recommend using the ADuM3221, though, for a few reasons:
1) The CMTI is only 25 kV/µs, and GaN usually switches at a very fast slew rate
2) The ADuM3221 has two channels, so unless you are using both, and are both referenced to the same isolated ground, it has a wasted channel.
I recommend looking at the ADuM4120 or ADuM4121 for a single channel, high CMTI gate driver solution. The same setup will work on the ADuM4120 or ADuM4121.
