Can the ADV7441A support the STANAG video standard ?
Analog Devices will only support the video standards that appear on the "ADV7441A Design Support Files" post on the Engineeringzone forum. (see link below).
The "ADV7441A Design Support Files" post also contains a non-supported video setting guide (Nonsupported_Video_Formats_Rev.B.pdf). This should help the user to program the part to accept STANAG standards.
To help the user a sample script is attached below that allows the ADV7441A to decode STANAG-A 875i video data.
Unfortunately Analog Devices cannot provide any further support.
For those interested in Military imaging systems or receive questions about STANAG, I found this helpful summary of the STANAG 3350 A, B and C video classifications from, http://www2.rohde-schwarz.com/en/technologies/broadcast_tv_radio/video_audio_standards/STANAG_3350/Information/.
• STANAG 3350 Class A: 875i, 30 Hz
• STANAG 3350 Class B, 625i, 25 Hz: Timing corresponds to commercial 625i PAL
• STANAG 3350 Class C, 525i, 30 Hz: Timing corresponds to commercial 525i NTSC
There are other video standards in STANAG that encapsulate and deliver MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264, JPEG 2000 and so forth, usually under STANAG 4609.
P.S. STANAG = STandardization Agreement within the NATO OrGanization
