I have an optical encoder, with two quad single-ended TTL output signals A and B. What are the proper pins on my ADSP21262 to connect to the encoder? Thank you very much for your support as I am lost with the complexity of this DSP.
Actually any of the DAI I/O could work, but it might be easiest using Flag 0 and Flag 1. You can poll or use interrupts.
Make sure that your encoder uses 3.3V I/O - Not 5V TTL.
If it is 5V, you should buffer with a 5V tolerant logic part operating with a 3.3V supply, for example, a 74LVC2G125
Thank you so much Al for your responsiveness and the quality of your answer. I was indeed wandering about Flag inputs. Will Flag input be able to support high data rate (at least as much as any other DAI I/O)?
Yes, The flags are just as fast, certainly fast from an encoder perspective.
Good, many thanks Al
