syslogd memory

We are using sylogd with rotation for BF609. We see that overtime syslogd consumes memory and having an impact on the performance. Note that Our application do not malloc.  Is there any other loggers available that can be used for critical logging to a file? Application is set to higher priority. Also we saw that syslogd with rotation consumes more memory than syslogd without rotation. If there are better loggers available we can try
