Are serial type ADCs, eg. AD9253 suitable for precisely measure the phase difference between two sinusoidal signals? I wonder whether the principle of serial ADC would affect the phase delay or stability when the signal converted to digital.
The serial outputs will have no affect on the phase of the analog inputs. It should be perfectly fine to measure the phase difference between two sinusoidal.
The biggest contributor to error will likely be the layout of the front end. Be sure to keep everything symmetrical and equal length.
