Input Protection of ADG5436

I use the ADG5436 in an application where it can happen that signals are applied to the analog inputs to the unpowered switch.
I want to ask if external schottky diodes to the supplies are recommended in such an application to protect the internal clamping diodes?
This common method for input protecting is described in the application note MT-088 on page 21. It is no problem in my application, if the input signal appears at the downstream circuitry, because the downstream circuitry has a high impedance. Unfortunately I can't use any of your power off protected switches because I need a SPDT configuration.
