is there any tool to view the xml output by selecting specific entries?
e.g. list all functions mapped in L1_code memory, ....
unfortunately there is no way to control what data is generated in the map file - only a complete map can be generated.
i see your response of my question today!
i dont want to control the output of the map file.
i search for a possibility to load the xml and show specific informtions like the expert linker view
i want to check the linker output (which fcts. are compiled to which section...)
and sometimes to view further info about size etc.
there was a tool ldrViewer ! something like that with extension to show debugInfo
The LDRViewer utility (from Dolomitics) only works with loader boot streams, unfortunately, and we do not have a similar utility for examining executables. Perhaps you may be able to get the information you want from the elfdump utility?
This is a command line utility that can extract information from a DXE file, and you could get the addresses of symbols through:
eldump -n .symtab <dxeName.dxe>
Dear CraigG ,
Where can I see the description of all sections inside my mapfile.xml?
What means each one?
In some cases I have a lot of references of the same variable in the xml file, with different addresses... I do not know each one the the real memory address of the symbol.
Could you help me?
I see you have started a separate thread to ask this question, here. I'll answer it there.
