Is it possible to reach 2.7GHz with the DDS AD9956 and a 10Mhz reference clock but without a VCO? If not, what frequency can be reached?

I have a Analog Devices DDS AD9956 evaluation board and I am looking to genearate a 2.7GHz signal from it. However I have been finding the manual hard to understand. In essence it says I might need a VCO (which is an addon to the board) to reach 2.7GHz but I'm looking for verification of whether or not this is the case.

If it is possible to reach 2.7GHz I would like some advice on how to go about doing it because the evaluation board's software says I can't go above the reference clock's signal frequency.

Thank you,
