I am finding that my adau1452 pm0 panic flag is high immediately after starting the dsp core. Is this normal?
Yes it is. I see that often as well. It is a false indication.
I am setting Panic_Clear(0xF421) to 0x0000 then to 0x0001 once the core is started to clear the flag. If I then set the the Panic_Clear back to 0x0000 the panic flag returns. The datasheet states:
When Register 0xF427 (PANIC_FLAG) signals that an error has occurred, use Register 0xF421 (PANIC_CLEAR) to reset it. Toggle Bit 0 (PANIC_CLEAR) of this register from 0b0 to 0b1 and then back to 0b0 again to clear the flag and reset the state of the panic manager.
Is this incorrect?
Sorry, slight error, I am having the panic on PM1 not PM0...
Update- I found that zeroing out the full memory of the DSP before loading my data seems to allow me to operate with no panic flag active even after toggling the clear pin low.
Are you using a controller or are you using SigmaStudio to program the DSP and look at the flags?
I am using a controller.
Thanks, I need to investigate. Thanks for the info.
