I have a question about HDCP. Can we encrypt the unencrypted video by ADV7513? If yes, how should I configure it?
Please refer the following threads and hope that this would answer your question
In fact I have set 0xAF =1 (HDCP Encryption Enabled) and set 0xAF =1 (Current Frame HDCP Encrypted), but it seems that the video was still unencrypted.
Are there any other registers that should be configured? Or did i make some mistakes somewhere?
Thanks a lot!
What evaluation board are you using?
What is your test setup to the evaluation board?
How do you configure the board either through script or through software driver?
Did you observe the same behaviour on evaluation board?
I believe the HDCP handling section 4.6 from ADV7513 programming guide available at ADV7513 design support files would be good reference to know about how hdcp works. Please look in to this
I think I've followed the programming guide. I configure the board through the script. And I've set the register (0xAF) to 1 and (0xAF) to 1. But the ouput video is still unencrypted.
4.6 HDCP Handling4.6.1 For One Sink and No Upstream DevicesThe ADV7513 has a built-in micro-controller to handle HDCP transmitter states, including handling down-stream HDCPrepeaters. To activate HDCP from a system level the main controller needs to set the HDCP Desired register (0xAF) to 1 and the Frame Encryption register (0xAF) to 1, This informs the ADV7513 that the video stream should be encrypted. The ADV7513 takes control from there, and implements all of the remaining tasks defined by the HDCP 1.3 specification.
Could you please follow the instructions as stated in this thread ADV7511 HDCP Settings?
