I am not sure you need ADIsimClk to do this. If you are not particularly changing the analog loop filter components and generally looking to play with the dividers, the simple thing to do is use the driver itself. If you are using linux it will be the device tree. If you are using no-OS, you can simply change things in the main.

In your case you need 125MHz for some of the banks.
ad9523_channels[(n+1)].channel_num = 2; // select the bank ad9523_channels[(n+1)].channel_divider = 8; // 125MHz.
That is all you need to do.
The best part is you can test this all with the KCU105.
If you must need to play around with things, get the AD9523-1 evaluation software -- IMHO that is more useful.
You need to download the ADsimclk for the AD9523-1 and configure it to whatever you need. Then copy the register changes to the board. There is a limitation on the input crystal being 125MHz but the multipliers and dividers can be changed.
However if you know what you need to change, you can try and use the debug feature in the IIO Oscilloscope and go to the right registers and toggle the right dividers to set the output to the frequency of interest.
I hope this helped.
I have a customer who needs to do something similar: configure the AD9523 to output 1GHz on OUT 1 and Out 3 which clock the DAC and ADC sampling rate; and 125 MHz for the remaining outputs. The engineer ran into 2 problems -- can you help answer the questions below?
1) ADIsimClk only has one design topology for the AD9523-1 that requires a VCXO and REF1. The FMCDAQ2 board only has OSC into PLL2 and no REF1 (or REF2) input. How do I get the design topology to match the FMCDAQ2 board ? I think my difficulty all along is that there is no VCXO and REF input.
2) To extract the registers parameters, the help screen indicates "On the Tools menu, check that the Program Chip menu item is enabled. If it isn't, check with the evaluation board software that it supports the direct link to ADIsimCLK for this chip. Make sure that the evaluation board software has been manually run once as the current user, in order to set up the registry link." What Evaluation software do I need to run ? I have the Kintex UltraScale FPGA DSP Kit.
Any assistance/insight would be much appreciated.
