Could someone please clarify how to connect the REFCLK input of an AD9951 in single ended configuration (oscillator disabled) - should the input signal (0 dBm, typically) be AC coupled to REFCLK?
Hi, Yes, if the XTAL mode is not used, you should ac couple both REF CLK inputs. The capacitor values of 0.1uf or 0.01uf should suffice. In a single-ended configuration, tie the unused REF CLK ac capacitor to ground or AVDD for bypassing. A voltage swing of 200mVp-p to 1Vp-p should suffice.
Thanks very much!
It seems like the majority of the designs floating aroung the Internet are driving REFCLK incorrectly (DC coupled, 3.3 Vp-p, etc.)
