AD5593R: ADC data register format for the Temperature result of the internal temperature sensor in AD5593R.

Dear Experts,

 

My customer asked us about the following question on AD5593R. Could you please reply to the following question?

 

Q1: The ADC data register format in AD5593R has been specified on Table 20 of AD5593R datasheet as shown below:

So, the MSB (D15) bit of the ADC data register should be set to "0" always. However, when the temperature result of the internal temperature sensor of AD5593R is read, the 4-bit address field (D15 through D12) of the ADC data register will be set to 0b1000 and the MSB (D15) bit is not “0”.

 

That is to say, the ADC data register value for the temperature result in AD5593R should be:

1) {D15} = {1}.
2) {D14, D13, D12} = {0, 0, 0}.
3) {D11...D0} = Temperature result data.

 

Is the above description correct?

 

Let my customer clarify the ADC data register format for the temperature result in AD5593R.

 

Anyway, we have confirmed the following description in the AD5593R datasheet:
"The temperature result has an address of 0b1000 and care must be taken that this result is not confused with the readback from DAC0."
