Will there be any damage if I drive the + input of a standard op amp with the power pins floating? Consider a voltage follower configuration. My thinking is that there is no path back to ground so it should not.
You will have to contact National/TI for an answer on this. This is the Analog Devices forum, not
a general analog forum.
It depends on the process, junction isolated or D.I., bipolar or CMOS, ESD diodes to both rails or only one,
diodes between the inputs or not, low or high impedances on V+, V- and Vout.
The part I’m using is from National (TI) LMH6655. It is used in a voltage follower mode.
The part is a Advance VIP10™ (Vertically Integrated PNP)
complementary bipolar process.
