ADV7619 - FLEX PCB in-between HDMI receiver and HDMI Jack

we are working on a new product proposal with ADV7619 to support 4K HDMI input signals.

The form factor of the product might need a FLEX PCB in-between the HDMI receiver and the HDMI jack.

I am wondering if there is a rule of thumb what can be done without an additional HDMI ReDriver located just behind the HDMI Jack. The ReDriver will amplify and reshape the HDMI input signal to compensate the additional loss on the additional internal interconnects and preserve the HDMI input characteristic and performance to the outer world.

On one side we would like to avoid the additional cost for the HDMI ReDriver and on the other side I would like to avoid a hardware spin when it is already clear that we cannot meet the HDMI requirements without a HDMI Redriver.

The whole construction will look like this:

HDMI Jack –> back plate PCB –> FPC Header -> FCP cable 2-4 inches -> FPC Header -> carrier board -> module header -> Module with HDMI receiver ADV7619.

Please let me know your recommendation?
