Can you provide a sample of set of baseband data coming from the ADF5904, that is then being digitized by the ADAR7251? I am assuming it's just the target delta frequency over time?
See plot in the following post, the last figure is plot of base band signal from ADF5904 that would be input to ADC.

Ok, so the time domain waveform (@ beat frequency) on the top plot of the o-scope is what we can expect to get from the ADAR7251?
Currently, we are using the ADI Radar Eval_Platform-3.1.0 program, see pics below, with the EV-RADAR-MMIC2, EVAL-ADAR7251Z and SDP-B boards. We have antennas connected to TX1 and RX4 and see nothing reasonable at the output. Can you supply some direction or default settings to try?

The default settings in SW is set to run 5ms 200MHz triangular ramp.
With these settings and based on radar beat equation
and a target at 3m
The resultant beat frequency will be 800Hz
The default range on the plot is 600kHz so the 800Hz tone may not be visible.
The range can be adjusted by using the highlighted area.
You can also open the Time Domain Display to view the time domain output line on the oscilloscope plot.

Could you advice where I can get software for radar, because I do same system with some modification in antenna part?
I am a bit confused about the sampling frequency of receiver ADC. I am working with a simulation bench in MATLAB and I was trying the 1.2 MHz sampling rate of the ADC to get the same result from the ADI EVAL software, but I only got the same result when I made the sampling frequency the same with the bandwidth of the transmitted signal.
I am assuming I am lacking knowledge in this area and I would like to ask your help .
I simulated the same example asked by wtidd. I took a target at 3m with 5ms period and 200MHz triangular ramp.
The simulation give me a target at 762.9395 Hz with -38.2904 dB. This should be in agreement with the theory.
However, when I test the same simulation with 1.2MHz sampling I get a wrong IF.
Actually, if I zoom out I get a target at a different IF than I am expecting.
Is there a reason why the target might be shifted at that frequency?
