Hi. I want to use the HMC1099. I a need a bias-sequencer - HMC981LP I guess?
How can you ensure that RF-input is turned correct off in case off brown-out? Will I need to insert an RF-switch?
Unfortunately, HMC981 cannot support the biasing requirement of GaN amplifiers, where around 28V Vdd and -4V Vgg is required. Please refer to the application note AN-1363 for further details on bias controllers.
For now we do not have an active bias controller to meet the biasing requirements of GaN amplifiers. But some ADI power management parts can be used to implement biasing circuits depending on the voltage rails readily available on the system.
AD7293 is also worth checking out for biasing GaN amplifiers. Its current sense Vdd input can support GaN Vdd requirements, and has bipolar DACs to provide negative Vgg voltage.
