How do I build a working Linux kernel for the Arria 10/DAQ2 Jesd204B platform?

I have the demo up and running just fine using the a10gx_daq2_2016_r1.zip

<https://wiki.analog.com/_media/resources/tools-software/linux-drivers/platforms/nios2/a10gx_daq2_2016_r1.zip>

precompiled FPGA SOF and Linux OS sources.

I terms of the Linux kernel, I have successfully built 3 versions of the kernel per the instructions located on the Wiki:

https://wiki.analog.com/resources/tools-software/linux-drivers/platforms/nios2

I built the altera_4.0, altera_4.4 and altera_4.6 version as published on GitHub:

https://github.com/analogdevicesinc/linux/tree/altera_4.0

https://github.com/analogdevicesinc/linux/tree/altera_4.4

https://github.com/analogdevicesinc/linux/tree/altera_4.6

I have not been able to get any of my three kernel builds to boot up as the zImage in the zip file does.  I get no network connectivity.  The udhcpc client stalls out trying to obtain a DHCP issued IP address.  Serial console output attached.

Please advise.

Thank you,

T Jones
