Hi EZ support,

Customer managed to read the input from their customised board design but the performance is not desirable (bad performance) as compared to FMCOMMS2 board.

Input signal is a 2.405GHz signal at -30dbm.

The local oscillator frequency I set is at 2.4GHz.

Expecting to read out a signal of 5MHz.

They would like to know how ADI recommends designing the traces for the input RF.

  • Impedance matching of the lines connected to the Balun. They are using the same Balun as FMCOMMS2 and is also taking in a Single-Ended input and converting it to differential.

o   Is the single ended input line to the Balun 50ohm impedance, while the differential output is 100ohm impedance?

  • Can I check if the Clock selection is ok?

o   Using (ASDM1-33.333MHZ-LC-T) together with a voltage level translator (SN74AUC1G125).

  • Can I check if the stability is good enough? The oscillator is rated at +/-50ppm.
  • Can I check if adding the voltage level translator will affect the performance?
