I've done some assembler programming in the past. Probably about 1-2 years of experience. However, this is my 1st time looking at dsp code. I am trying to understand the manual for the ADSP-218x and how LSHIFT works.
The specific code I am looking at is:
sr=sr or lshift si by 10 (lo)
sr holds 0x0C0C03FF
si holds 0x00FF
I am confused by the (lo) and (hi) in that I am unclear what it means by "referenced to the high or reference to the low". Are we shifting si, sr or both? What would be the resulting value in sr above?
If someone could walk me through the steps that occur I would appreciate it.
