Is manual chroma gain of ADV7181C available in case of SECAM input?
Manual chroma gain means CAGC register = 00 and adjusting CMG register.
It doesn't seem that is available in actual boards...
Design confirmed that the chroma gain control does not apply to SECAM. It only applies to QAM standard like NTSC and PAL. The gain in the SECAM signal decoding is a function of the FM demodulator and is fixed. However customers can adjust the SECAM color levels by adjusting the Cb/Cr saturation controls (Reg 0xE3 and 0xE4). This would effectively allow them to increase or decrease the SECAM gain.
If the video signal is running through the SDP than you can control the gains via I2C writes
CAGC[1:0] Chroma Automatic Gain Control (SDP), Address 0x2C, [1:0]
CMG[11:0] Chroma Manual Gain (SDP), Address 0x2D, [3:0]; Address 0x2E, [7:0]
Thank you for your reply.
Chroma Manual Gain can be controlled by CAGC/CMG when NTSC and PAL.
But it seems Chroma Manual Gain cannot be controlled when SECAM.
Is that ADV7181C's limitation?
Where in the manual do you see this limitation?
I don't see this limitation in the manual.
Chroma Manual Gain seems not to be available on actual board.
I would like to know whether if Chroma Manual Gain would be available in the case of SECAM or not.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Any video steam running through the SDP should have these gains.
Thank you for your support.
Let me confirm again.
In the case of SECAM input
-Hue-Adjust function(SDP) does not work.
-(But) Chroma Manual Gain(SDP) can work.
Is that correct?
How about this status?
Sorry for the delay. I am talking with ADV7181C experts to see what the issue could be.
I appreciate your support.
Cannot you get the answer yet?
No response from the expert yet, I've re-pinged him.
