BF538F EZ KIT Flash Programming

I'm trying to use the internal flash memory on my BF538F EZ KIT so that it will run a program on startup.

On my EZKIT i have all of SW6 (flash enable switch) ON, and the first bit of SW14 (flash chip enable switch) ON

i go to tools --> flash programmer

under driver i navigate to Blackfin\Examples\ADSP-BF538F EZ-KIT Lite\Flash Programmer\InternalFlash\BF538EzFlashDriver_S29AL004D_8D.dxe

i click load driver and it confirms that it loaded correctly

under the programming tab i navigate to my .ldr file (ie "flashtest.ldr") that i created by building said project

for pre-programming erase options i have erase affected

when i click program i get the following error:

"Error: Could not write file, load will not complete."

Does anyone know what the problem is?  Or what causes this error?

With any of the other SW14 bits ON instead of the first bit, it verifies that the programming is complete

but I never see the program running on the board, tried resetting the board and all (its a simple program that sets the LEDs)

Can anyone help?  Thanks!
