Our customer will try to evaluate the "Ramp Mode with Superimposed FSK Signal" using the ADF4159 & ADF5901 in the EV-RADAR-MMIC2.
Would you provide the reference register setting using the EV-RADAR-MMIC2 ?
I have set up a Continuous Triangular Ramp, with 10 1MHz steps and modulated it with an FSK Ramp of 250kHz. Set up the board and initialise it with the default settings. In the ADF4159 Ramps tab, select Continuous Triangular for Ramp Mode and Enable FSK Ramp. The Up Ramp settings are as shown in the diagram creating a 10MHz ramp. The Down Ramp is the FSK ramp to be modulated onto the Up Ramp and using the settings shown that creates a 250kHz step.
Connecting the dc blocked TXOUT2 connector (J9) to the spectrum analyzer and triggering externally off the Ramp Status signal coming from MUX OUT (TP19) I captured the following diagram. This shows the 1MHz steps of the UP Ramp and the modulated 250kHz FSK Ramp onto each step.
