We are using the ADV7280 in one of our new designs. We configure it via I2C and using the I2C commands from the recommended script (Autodetect_CVBS_Single_Ended_In_Ain_1_YPrPb_Out.py). This works so far. Now I try to understand the commands sent to the ADV7280 but this isn't really possible because some of them cannot be found in the documentation available. I found some additional information here in the community but there are still some unanswered question:
Which of the commands are really necessary?
E.g. the script writes 0x40 to the 0x1D register. This bit isn't available in the documentation but it seems to be necessary for correct function. In the ADV7180 documentation this bit is the EN28XTAL. Is this still valid for the ADV7280?
Can you provide additional information on these "Magic Hidden registers" ?
I hope someone can help me. I don't feel good writing registers I don't know :-)
